Original manufacturer packaging is not included.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eYamamomo Shibuki is a traditional Japanese natural dye made from the bark of the Yamamomo tree.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUsed in Japan since the Nara era, it has long been valued for producing warm yellow and brown shades.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the Edo era, a fermented extract of the bark was known as Shibuki and was used to create earthy, natural colours on textiles.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tree itself blooms in spring and produces sweet edible fruits in summer.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDepending on the extraction method, Yamamomo Shibuki can produce different tones, from brighter yellows to deeper browns.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDyeing Instructions:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eBoil the dye in hot water above 80°C for 20 minutes.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRepeat the extraction process four times, then combine the dye liquids.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFor a deeper, thicker colour, extract the dye in alkaline water.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFor a brighter yellow, extract the dye in acidic water.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDye the fibre in hot water at 40 to 60°C for 10 minutes.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNotes:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe final colour may vary depending on the fibre type, mordant, water quality, pH, and dyeing conditions.
