Original manufacturer packaging is not included.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIndigo is one of the oldest and most celebrated natural dyes in history. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eFor thousands of years, it was the world's primary source of blue, producing colours ranging from delicate sky blue to rich navy and almost black.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDerived from plants of the Indigofera genus, Organic Indigo undergoes a traditional fermentation and extraction process before being carefully dried into a concentrated natural dye.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDharma's Organic Indigo is 100% Indigoid and is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) Certified, producing deeper blues with fewer dips than many traditional indigo powders.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eUnlike most natural dyes, indigo does not bond directly with the fibre. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eInstead, it develops its colour through oxidation, gradually turning from yellow-green to blue as it reacts with air.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOrganic Indigo is ideal for traditional indigo dyeing, Shibori, tie-dye, batik, and other resist dyeing techniques.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDyeing Instructions:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePrepare an indigo vat using your preferred reduction method.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFully dissolve and reduce the indigo before dyeing.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDip the fibre into the vat for several minutes before removing it.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAllow the fibre to oxidise in the air until it turns blue.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eRepeat the dipping process to gradually build deeper shades.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNotes:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIndigo develops its colour through oxidation rather than direct dye absorption.
