Aran & Worsted

Aran and worsted weight yarns offer a wonderful balance between warmth, drape, and speed of crocheting or knitting. While they are often used interchangeably, it's important to note that they are different weights, with slight variations in hook or needle size and thickness. Worsted weight yarn is slightly finer and is typically crocheted or knitted on 4.5mm hooks or needles. On the other hand, Aran yarn is slightly thicker and is crocheted or knitted on 5mm hooks or needles. Aran yarn is sometimes referred to as heavy worsted weight or 10-ply. Whether you choose Aran or worsted-weight yarn, you can create stunning pieces with excellent stitch definition and a pleasing weight.
