The vibrant hub showcased and promoted textile art in various mediums, featuring talented artists from around the world. Visitors immersed themselves in the creativity of textile expression, from tufting and weaving to embroidery and innovative fabric manipulation. Guests experienced live performances, engaged directly with artists, and participated in hands-on workshops designed to inspire and educate.

Textile Hub Curator

Asad Azizi

Asad is a tufting artist, yarn dyer, screen printer, and co-founder of Handmayk, a dedicated textile arts studio based in Dubai.

His practice blends traditional textile craftsmanship with contemporary techniques, exploring texture, form, and materiality through his signature approach, โ€œChaos Tuftingโ€ - a distinctive style that expands the expressive possibilities of tufted art.

Working from his dedicated studio in Dubai, Asad creates bespoke commissions and large-scale textile installations, alongside developing custom-dyed yarns and printed works that reflect his deep engagement with fibre and colour.

In addition to his artistic practice, Asad leads professional workshops for artists, designers, and craft practitioners, contributing to the growth and recognition of textile and fibre arts across the region.

As curator of the Textile Hub at World Art Dubai, he aims to elevate and spotlight diverse textile practices, fostering dialogue between tradition, innovation, and contemporary artistic expression.

Textile Hub was a unique, first-of-its-kind feature at World Art Dubai 2025.

The first edition successfully launched in 2025, and will return bigger and better in 2026.

Dedicated exclusively to textile and fibre art, unlike any other section of the fair.

Featured 14 artists from 9 countries showcasing tufting, weaving, embroidery, macramรฉ, crochet, knitting, tapestry, felting, and more.

Hosted interactive workshops where visitors engaged directly with textile art.

Included live tufting performances and a live weaving performance, attracting crowds.

Received high-profile visits from royals, collectors, curators, and VIP guests.

One of the proudest moments was welcoming Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, who visited the Textile Hub as part of her tour.

Artists and workshop hosts gained extensive marketing coverage across media, social platforms, and event channels.
