This professional material is used by the Handmayk Studio in workshops and production. To make it accessible for sampling and small projects, it has been repackaged by Handmayk into smaller quantities.
IMPORTANT: Product images are for reference purposes only. You will receive 50g of dye repackaged in an unlabelled plastic container. Original manufacturer packaging is not included.
A highly concentrated synthetic dye selected and studio-tested by Handmayk for colouring khous (dried palm leaves and palm fronds) used in traditional weaving, basketry and contemporary craft.
Unlike conventional textile dyes, these colours have been selected specifically for their ability to produce strong, vibrant shades on prepared palm material using a simple hot-water dyeing process.
Ideal for khous weaving, palm-leaf crafts, basketry, decorative objects and experimental textile and fibre-art applications.
How to Use
For best results, dissolve the dye thoroughly in hot water and apply to pre-wetted khous in a hot dye bath.
Colour strength can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the amount of dye used.
As palm leaves are a natural material, colour uptake and final shades may vary depending on the variety, age, preparation and surface of the palm.
